This course cultivates and supports research partnerships between our undergraduates and faculty. It offers the chance to work on cutting edge research—whether you join established research projects or pursue your own ideas. Undergraduates participate in each phase of standard research activity: developing research plans, writing proposals, conducting research, analyzing data and presenting research results in oral and written form. Projects can last for an entire semester, and many continue for a year or more. SKKU students use their CGS(Creative Group Study) experiences to become familiar with the faculty, learn about potential majors, and investigate areas of interest. They gain practical skills and knowledge they eventually apply to careers after graduation or as graduate students.

This course is an exploration of advertising and popular culture (and advertising as popular culture). Students will explore advertising from many different perspectives, how it is attached by pop culture and how it is affecting pop culture and our everyday lives.
ISS3220 Consumer Behavior 3 6 Major Bachelor - No
The goal of this course is to provide 1) an understanding of the dynamics that underlie consumer behavior (CB) and the factors that influence these dynamics, and 2) experience in extending beyond knowing and understanding to applying said knowledge. For many aspects of the course experience, the guiding question will be: “How could you apply the concepts and principles form assigned reading to develop, improve, package or promote your product/service/issue in a way likely to impact positively upon consumers’ mental states and/or behavior? ”
ISS3266 Digital Strategies in Media and Communication 3 6 Major Bachelor 1-4 - No
This course presents a clear overview of the digital media strategies for business and offers opportunities for acquiring analytical skills of performing integrated strategic communication (ISC) functions in digital environments. Topics coveredinclude search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, email marketing, big data, digital/social media analytics, social media management, content strategies, and mobile marketing. Through online module sessions, class assignments, discussions, andsimulation project, students will be able to implement an integrated digital media campaign. Attention will also be given to working knowledge of the digital analytics tools for creating, managing, executing, and evaluating digital strategies
ISS3280 Content Business in Metaverse 3 6 Major Bachelor 1-4 - No
This class analyzes cases of content creation and business model in metaverse, which are actively used in business recently, and conducts basic research on them. In this class, students experience various metaverse platforms to analyze the content industry, and practice on the metaverse platform. In addition students broaden their perspectives on various domestic and overseas business models and content industries related to metaverse, and discuss the direction of the media industry.
MCJ2005 Cybercomm. Theory 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 - No
This course covers communication situations of the cyber space on the basis of internet networks. It mainly focuses on similarities and differences between the old communication situations - that is, newspaper, radio, television, etc. - and the new communication situations. It also discusses about new communication models explaining the cyber communication.

This class is for students' practices of visual contents production and will emphasize breadth over depth. For the student who is taking this course as a single exposure to the practice of visual contents, it will provide a broad overview of the field from both professional and social standpoints. Students will be expected to acquire an understanding of the basic elements of visual production. The course will provide an opportunity for students to create a variety of visual productions.

This course is intended to teach the essential theories of news coverage and reporting, and to provide students with the opportunities to enhance hands-on experience on how to cover various issues and produce news outlets. Oriented towards the manner of news production in the integrated news room practicing one source multi use, sequential activities from fact-finding, interview, triangulation, news writing, to reporting are taught step by step.

This course aims to train students to equip with journalistic skills including interview, journalistic writing & editing, visual footage production, and reporting. This intensitive OJT course is intended to enhance capabilities of prospective students who potentially own talents and orientation as journalists. Possibly, an internship program in cooperation with media companies can be provided.

This course systematically analyzes the operating principles of the media industry and the strategies of media companies. Students use various laws and theories to analyze the media market. Students also analyze media companies in terms of strategic management, marketing, CSR, HR, and finance. Students prepare and present reports analyzing the structure and performance of media industries or detailed strategies of media companies.

This course takes a look at media advertising elements, including digital, mobile, and social networks while reinforcing the importance of traditional components--television, magazine, online, and outdoor advertising--with everyday applications. Discussion on advertising initiatives features current campaigns, agency relationship, and media organizations. The course also explores target audience development, product positioning, creative messaging, media strategies, and campaign execution.
MCJ2036 Communication in Interpersonal Relationships 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 - No
This course deals with communication within various types of interpersonal relationships such as friendships, romantic relationships, family relationships, work relationships and so on. Moreover, this course will examine the stages of relational development; specifically, we will explore characteristics of communication during relational initiation, maintenance, and termination. This course will also take a look at theories of various disciplines such as communication, psychology, and sociology related to interpersonal communication.

This course introduces economic theories and methodologies to explain how the content industry works in the area of media, culture and art. Students acquire the theoretical knowledge necessary to analyze the content industry. After that, a part of the content industry is selected and analyzed through team projects.

This course explores the application of artificial intelligence to the content industry across media, culture and arts. Students first acquire basic knowledge related to artificial intelligence and learn the cases of artificial intelligence applied to the content industry. Based on the above learning, students perform the task of applying artificial intelligence to the contents industry.
MCJ2039 Metaverse and Communication 3 6 Major Bachelor Korean Yes
This course examines the concepts and theories of virtual reality and metaverse. To apply theories, students experience various metaverse platforms in this class. This course reviews the structure of interaction and communication between user-user and user-content in virtual space. This course studies various communication methods and cases using metaverse.
