Video Content Studio

The Department of Media and Communication operates a Video Content Studio to support students in filming, editing, and producing video content. The studio is equipped with cameras, lighting equipment, audio mixers, microphones, and PCs.

Students who wish to use the studio must apply and follow the procedures below.

 


 

Usage Guidelines

Available Days and Hours
Weekdays: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM / 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
(Closed on weekends and public holidays)

Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted by Friday at 12:00 PM of the week prior to the desired date.
(Same-week applications are not permitted. Example: To reserve a slot on Monday of the 3rd week of August, you must apply by Friday of the 2nd week.)

Application Results
Results can be checked via the studio calendar. Approved reservations are posted every Friday afternoon for the following week.

Scheduling Priority
In case of overlapping requests, priority is given to department-hosted events. Other requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Equipment Use
If you wish to use studio equipment, you must indicate this in the application form in advance.
Users must check all equipment for proper operation before and after use.

Equipment Policy
Studio equipment cannot be taken outside the studio.
Any movement of equipment or furniture must be approved in advance and must be restored after use.

Additional Rules
Compliance with COVID-19 safety guidelines (maximum of 5 users, masks required)
No food or drinks allowed

VR Space

The Department of Media and Communication operates a VR Space where students can create immersive content using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies.

The VR Space is equipped with devices such as Oculus Quest 2 all-in-one VR headsets, high-performance GPU computers, 360-degree cameras, and immersive audio systems, allowing students to use the space freely for both coursework and independent practice.

Students who wish to use the VR Space must apply and follow the procedures below.

Application Procedure

  1. 1. For course-related use (e.g., Metaverse and Communication, Metaverse and Content Business, Media UX Design, Media Content Planning), reservations are made through the instructor or teaching assistant.

2. For individual or group use, send a reservation request via email (jmc2018@skku.edu) including the desired date, time, number of users, and names (at least one day in advance).

3. Use is permitted only after receiving email confirmation. On the day of use, visit the department office to request access to the space.

Equipment Rental

The Department of Media and Communication provides equipment rental services to support students in filming, editing, and producing video content. The department office offers equipment such as gimbals, webcams, tripods, lavalier microphones, and cameras.

Students who wish to rent equipment must follow the procedures below.

 


 

Usage Guidelines

Weekdays: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM / 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
(Closed on weekends and public holidays)

Equipment can be rented on the same day by visiting the department office without prior reservation.

Please note that users are responsible for any loss or damage to the equipment. Handle all equipment with care.

 


 

Rental Procedure
1. Visit the department office with an ID (Kingo screen may be used as an alternative)
2. Complete the equipment rental log
3. Borrow the desired equipment and return it at the agreed time for inspection
