※ This scholarship system selects scholarship students only among applicants for the 2026 Fall Graduate School general admission, foreign special admission (1st Round), and undergraduate–graduate integrated program students in the 2026 Spring semester (planning to enter graduate school in Fall 2026).
1. What is the New Graduate Outstanding Student Scholarship System?
- A system that selects students with excellent academic performance and research achievements among those who graduated (or are expected to graduate) from undergraduate or master’s programs and wish to enter a full-time master’s / integrated master’s–PhD / doctoral program in the general graduate school (including professional schools’ academic research), and provides scholarships
2. Selection types and provided amount
- TYPE1 top outstanding student type: full (100%) support of admission fee and tuition for 2 years (master’s, PhD) / 3 years (integrated program)
- TYPE2 outstanding student type: full admission fee + 50% tuition support for 2 years (master’s, PhD) / 3 years (integrated program)
(TYPE2 selection considers even those not selected for TYPE1 comprehensively)
3. Eligibility (※ must satisfy all conditions)
- Among graduates (or expected graduates) from this university or other universities who wish to enter general graduate school (including interdisciplinary programs), students belonging to the following categories
➀ 2026 Fall general admission applicants
➁ 2026 Fall foreign special admission (1st Round) applicants
➂ 2026 Spring undergraduate–graduate integrated program students (planning to enter graduate school in Fall 2026)
※ Excluded departments for application/selection: refer to attached plan file
※ Departments receiving internal matching funds through external projects may have restrictions on scholarship 지급 even after selection
※ Undergraduate–graduate integrated students apply only for the scholarship within the period without graduate school application
※ Selected students must perform at least 1 course per semester as a teaching assistant (TA) (* if not performed, scholarship not provided)
→ Students unable to perform TA duties (4 major insurance holders during semester, part-time students, etc.) may have selection canceled
※ If not entering graduate school or if GPA after admission is below 3.5 (including F), scholarship qualification is lost
※ Selected students must input performance in the SKKU Graduate Competency Index (SGCPI+) within Challenge Square after admission: paper publications, conference records, lectures, overseas training, etc.
- Academic performance
- Master’s / integrated program applicants: overall undergraduate GPA 3.5 or higher (excluding F)
- Doctoral applicants: undergraduate GPA 3.5 or higher (excluding F) & master’s GPA 4.0 or higher (excluding F)
- Supervisor recommendation
- All applicants (from this university / other universities) must receive recommendation from a full-time faculty member belonging to the SKKU graduate department (applied department) and submit a recommendation letter
※ Both supervisor and prospective graduate department chair signatures are required
- Full-time student
※ Selected students must be full-time students capable of TA activity every semester (submission of 4 major insurance enrollment confirmation required)
4. Application procedure
- Application period: 2026.03.24.(Tue) ~ 2026.04.08.(Wed)
(offline submission until 17:00, submission deadline time may vary by college office, so check with the relevant office)
- Required documents (※ recommendation format refer to attachment: supervisor section must be written by supervisor)
※ Must use the format attached to this notice
- For graduates (or expected) of this university: recommendation letter, 4 major insurance enrollment confirmation
- For graduates (or expected) of other universities: recommendation letter, undergraduate & master’s transcript copies, 4 major insurance enrollment confirmation
※ Other-university applicants must submit transcripts
※ Transfer students must submit previous university transcripts
※ If there are research achievements or awards/activities, submit supporting documents (not 인정 if not submitted)
※ 4 major insurance confirmation must be submitted
- Submission of recommendation and supporting documents
→ Submit online/offline to the graduate department office you wish to enter
※ If offline submission is not possible, check submission method by department and submit scanned originals
※ Recommendation must include reason for recommendation + signatures of supervisor and department chair
(Blank recommendation reason may disadvantage selection)
※ Use the attached form in “New Graduate Outstanding Scholarship Operation Guidelines”
- Announcement of results: announced simultaneously with graduate school admission results
5. Recommendation submission for degree change (Master’s → Integrated program)
If a student previously selected as a scholarship recipient applies for degree change (master’s → integrated), the supervisor may newly submit a recommendation, and based on it, the graduate school dean decides whether to extend scholarship period (only for students admitted after 2025)
- 대상: among existing scholarship recipients applying for degree change in 2026 Spring
- Submission period & place: until 2026.04.08.(Wed), to affiliated college office
- Documents: recommendation, 4 major insurance confirmation
** Recommendation form: use attached format and check “degree change” under “planned degree”
- Result announcement date: planned 2026.05.11.(Mon) (individual notice)
- Notes
※ Those who lost scholarship qualification cannot submit recommendation
※ Cannot submit if overall graduate GPA is below 4.0 (including F)
※ 4 major insurance holders cannot submit
※ Must perform TA duties during extended scholarship period (failure → disqualification)
※ No re-selection for previously unselected applicants
※ Extension only possible under current type (TYPE2 cannot upgrade to TYPE1)
※ The university is not responsible for issues arising from failure to understand scholarship guidelines and regulations
